Check-in and Check-out

Check-in is no earlier than 16:00 on the move-in day.

Check-out is no later than 11:00 on the day of departure.

Alternative check-in/check-out times only by separate  agreement with the landlord. This is important so that we have time to set up the house for the next guest.

Keys

The key to the house can be found in a key cabinet in one of the old outhouses in the red shed by the road. In the leftmost of the three outhouses with green doors, you will find a black key cabinet on the left wall. To get the code for the key safe, you must contact Hostess Lisel-Lott Isaksson +46 73 8022666 no later than one day before arrival.  Send a text message if she cant pick up the phone.  Lise-Lott will then give you the code and sync all the details of your stay,

Sheets, towels, extra beds etc.

Sheets and towels for up to 16 people are included with airbnb rentals, and can be purchased at another type of rental. We have 16 regular beds, but in addition to this there are 5 extra beds (including duvets and pillows) but you need to bring your own sheets for these five beds. We will put out sheets and towels for a maximum of 16 people, but you will have to make the bed yourself. When moving out, we want you to make your beds and put dirty sheets and towels on the floor of the laundry room.

Extra beds, comforters and pillows can be found in the closet just above the stairs. Three of the beds are here and the remaining two can be found under a bed in either of the bedrooms. The renter is responsible for putting back all items where they were found, not to risk an extra fee. 

Cleaning/Restoration/Garbage

Final cleaning is included in the rent when you rent via airbn, and can be purchased at another type of rental. But some things you have to take care of yourselves:

·       Restore furnishing so it looks like when you arrived.

·       All food items must be brought when moving out. We don't want any goods left behind that might start to smell. The only exception is dry spices, oil and salt that you can leave to the next tenant if you want.

·       Packaging and other recycling must be sorted and taken with you upon departure. There are several recycling stations in Norrtälje. Görla recycling center is recommended.

·       Food waste/compost should go into  brown paper bags and then put into the grey bin

·       Other household waste is disposed of in a green bin. Note- in the summer we have two such containers but each party must manage on a maximum of one full bin. The bin is emptied only every fourteen days (Mondays or tuesdays). 

Fire equipment and rules for candles, etc.

NB. These fire rules are the single most important rules we have for the house. Both for your safety and for the good and woe of the house. You are responsible for a 150-year-old wooden house and a piece of cultural history....

Fire extinguisher and Fire blanket are located behind the double doors between the hall and the hall on the lower level

We have fire alarms from Verisure installed. With a total of five Verisure detectors fitted. As well as a few more common smoke detectors.

It's OK to light candles in the house but pay close attention to where they are placed. Only värmeljus/tealights may be used if they are to be left unattended, i.e. only use long candles if someone is in the room to keep an eye.

Marshalls must not be placed on the stairs or porch

None of the wood stoves in the big house can be used. The chimney is faulty, and you risk start a fire. The fireplace in the Ghost house can be used though.

Heating, ventilation, windows, etc.

The heat in the house is easily adjusted using the +/- buttons on the electrical elements. Sometimes when arriving, the elements stand at 17C and the display flashes, but all you need to do is to go around and step up all the elements to the desired temperature. The bedrooms have adjustable fresh air vents. The windows may be opened for airing, but several of the windows may have swelled so that they are stuck. Avoid using force, the windows can crack – choose another window....

TV, Internet, etc.

There is a 40 inch TV in the upper living room. it is equipe with ChromeCast so you can easily stream whatever you like to watch from your phone. 

The house has Internet via optical fiber (100Mb/s) and three Wifi points that provide coverage throughout the house. The network is called "Gamla Pensionatet". The password can be found behind the fire blankets in the upper and lower halls.

Söderström's private stuff

Please show respect for the family's private stuff in lockers and dressers etc.

Consumables

Simpler consumables are included in the rent in limited quantity (toilet paper, dishwashing detergent, detergent, etc.). But we cannot promise that everything is replenished. Contact Lise-Lott if something is missing

Laundry room

Guests have access to a washing machine and tumble dryer. Here you will also find cleaning materials. And here is the electrical central with circuit breakers, as well as the main router for the Internet.

The porch and the Lounge Group

The cushions for the lounge group should be brought in in case of rain, and should be stored indoors every night.

"The Ghost house"

In one corner of the plot stands the "ghost house" that has recently been renovated. Some work remains, but the house is fully usable.  Good for cozy dinner parties. There is a small fridge for drinks that can be used. Just remeber to pull the plug before you leave.   There is also a fireplace that is approved for use. Use the Spark Protection Grate to minimize the risk of fire. The kiosk sells birch wood in sacks.

Outdoor

There is a large gas barbeque grill that is available to the guests. Moderate use of Propane is included. However, we cannot promise that there is always propane in the bottles. For longer rentals and extensive use, we would like you to fill up with gas (in Norrtälje). Three propane tubes are available (one Aga and two primagaz). You can also bring a full propane tube from home to be sure to have.

Inside the red door in the shed by the road there are some miscellaneous play and game things you are welcome to borrow. There are also two folding tables that can be used as an additional dining table.   There is in "slackline" used for walk-on-line exercises that are normally relaxed in the garden – which you are welcome to use.

Parking

Up to seven cars can be parked on the gravel paths if you pack well. If necessary, there are more slots on the side of the gravel road leading down to the steamboat jetty.

On departure

Remove bed linen, and make the beds so it looks orderly. Put dirty sheets and towels on the floor of the laundry room.
Return extra beds and comforters/pillows (three beds in the closet, the remaining two under beds)
Return furniture (chairs, tables etcetera)as they were. See pictures below for guidance

Run a dishwasher

Empty the fridge and bring all your groceries. The only exception is dry goods and spices and similar ones that it is OK to leave to subsequent tenants

Bring all packaging materials for recycling (e.g. at Görla recycling in Norrtälje)

Lock both front doors and put the key back in the key cabinet of the old outhouse.

If you have chosen to clean the house yourself, the house should be cleaned to the same condition as when you arrived, see separate cleaning instructions
